The restaurant in question is named "Under"-a word that means both "below" and "wonder" in Norwegian. It sits in a small village named Lindesnes, by the sea side. It is five meters down in the water, can you imagine? An elevator ride down to the underwater restaurant. When you arrive, you can watch the restaurant through panoramic windows with all kinds of fantastic sea animals. A completely new world was opening for me!
From them, eating in an underwater restaurant is not about food only. This is also the fun and unique experience! Upon entering the restaurant, you will feel like in a different place. Restaurant has an unassuming yet modern décor and everything in the restaurant look like you are under water which is pretty cool. It may feel like you are a fish swimmig in the ocean with this one!

Walls, windows made of two-and-a-half-inch thick acrylic glass at Under A particular kind of glass that gives the possibility for guests to observe undersea creatures without dealing with water pressure. But it is safe and allows you to look out! The restaurant is also eco-friendly and built with sustainable materials or reducing waste from around the world, good for our earth.
Constructing an underwater restaurant is a vast project, requiring much time investment and effort as well. The restaurant has won 3 Michelin stars, and the team at Under spent four years designing &building it before it opened in 2019. Over 12 hours is a long time but boy, was it worth the wait!
There is no way that they could begin construction without planning ahead. They had to get a nice space for the restaurant and made sure it was in an area where everyone who would be attending,was safe. They, too made sure to design their restaurant strongly and smartly by working with engineers, architects.
The team struggled a lot while building. They had to work in challenging environments (strong water currents and low light conditions working underwater.) They also had to ensure that they are not hurting the nature while developing their quarry, an important fact in my opinion.
