ShareThe Zhengzhou Dahecun National Archaeological Site Park, with a total investment of 1.62 billion yuan, is known as the “Village Beneath the Stars.”
As a landmark site representing the origins of Chinese civilization, it primarily features Yangshao culture, marking the beginning of the “Early Chinese Cultural Sphere.”
It stands as one of the most remarkable components of Yellow River culture. The site is among the fifth batch of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level,
as announced by the State Council, and has been approved by the National Cultural Heritage Administration as one of the national archaeological site parks for development.
Shanghai Lanhu Aquarium Engineering Co., Ltd., deeply mindful of the profound cultural significance embodied by the Dahecun site,
sought to bridge history and humanity through a minimalist design language. By introducing an acrylic bridge that runs throughout the museum’s landscape circulation,
Lanhu metaphorically extends the “cultural lineage” of the site. Using modern craftsmanship, the design subtly enriches the park’s public landscape,
allowing visitors to experience the interplay of light and shadow along their path. This rhythmic alternation evokes a sense of poetic charm and immersion, leaving visitors captivated and inspired.
The continuous acrylic panels are meticulously crafted with fine precision, depicting an abstract landscape aesthetic.
Their visual dialogue with the aquatic life below creates interwoven ripples and dynamic reflections on the water’s surface, infusing the leisure spaces with vitality and movement.
In the interplay of light and shadow between water and bridge, the design highlights the bridge’s structure, material texture,
and distinctive form with clarity and depth. The result is a vivid expression of grandeur and serenity, offering strong immersion and allowing visitors to quickly connect with the historical and cultural atmosphere of the site.
Throughout the planning and design of this project, Lanhu Aquarium has adhered to the principles of respecting historical context and preserving architectural value.
The design achieves a balanced harmony between the bridge and the Dahecun National Archaeological Site Park—neither overemphasizing contemporary aesthetics nor avoiding modern expression.
Harmony remains the central theme. From early-stage planning and design to acrylic material development, production,
and installation, every step has been executed with strict adherence to industry standards, rigorous organization, and a commitment to excellence.
The aim is to achieve maximum simplicity while ensuring comfort and functionality.
Lanhu Aquarium transforms precision engineering into a brushstroke that continues the story of the past, infusing the space with a distilled spirit, minimalist temperament, and refined elegance. Visitors, while exploring, are invited to experience both the thousand-year-old Yangshao culture and the enduring mission it represents. Immersed in this environment, they are no longer mere spectators but active participants—drawing new strength from the living continuity of history.
